Basil Tea

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup fresh basil leaves (or 1 tbsp dried)
2 cups water
Optional: honey or lemon
INSTRUCTIONS:
Boil water and pour over basil.
Steep for 5–10 minutes.
Strain, sweeten if desired and sip warm.
Basil Lemon Detox Drink
INGREDIENTS::
1 handful fresh basil
Juice of 1 lemon
2 cups water
Optional: honey
INSTRUCTIONS:
Mix all ingredients and let infuse for 10–15 minutes. Serve chilled or warm.
Basil Garlic Butter
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup softened butter
2 tbsp chopped basil
1 clove garlic (minced)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Mix well and spread on bread, vegetables, or grilled meats.
Fresh Basil Pesto
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups fresh basil leaves
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup pine nuts (or walnuts)
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt & pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS:
Blend basil, garlic and nuts. Slowly add olive oil while blending. Stir in cheese, salt, and pepper. Serve over pasta, chicken, or veggies.
Tomato Basil Salad
INGREDIENTS:
Fresh tomatoes (sliced)
Fresh basil leaves
Mozzarella (optional)
Olive oil & balsamic vinegar
Salt & pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
Layer tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella. Drizzle with oil and vinegar. Season and enjoy!
