BASIL Recipes
Basil Tea
(Great for Digestion)
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves (or 1 tbsp dried)
- 2 cups water
- Optional: honey or lemon
INSTRUCTIONS: Boil water and pour over basil. Steep for 5–10 minutes. Strain, sweeten if desired and sip warm.
Fresh Basil Pesto
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup pine nuts (or walnuts)
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt & pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS: Blend basil, garlic and nuts. Slowly add olive oil while blending. Stir in cheese, salt, and pepper. Serve over pasta, chicken, or veggies.
Basil Lemon Detox Drink
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 handful fresh basil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 cups water
- Optional: honey
INSTRUCTIONS: Mix all ingredients and let infuse for 10–15 minutes. Serve chilled or warm.
Basil Garlic Butter
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 2 tbsp chopped basil
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
INSTRUCTIONS: Mix well and spread on bread, vegetables, or grilled meats.
Tomato Basil Salad
INGREDIENTS:
- Fresh tomatoes (sliced)
- Fresh basil leaves
- Mozzarella (optional)
- Olive oil & balsamic vinegar
- Salt & pepper
INSTRUCTIONS: Layer tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella. Drizzle with oil and vinegar. Season and enjoy!
