BASIL Recipes

Basil Tea

(Great for Digestion)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves (or 1 tbsp dried)
  • 2 cups water
  • Optional: honey or lemon

INSTRUCTIONS: Boil water and pour over basil. Steep for 5–10 minutes. Strain, sweeten if desired and sip warm.

 

Fresh Basil Pesto

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts (or walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt & pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONSBlend basil, garlic and nuts. Slowly add olive oil while blending. Stir in cheese, salt, and pepper. Serve over pasta, chicken, or veggies.

Basil Lemon Detox Drink

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 handful fresh basil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 cups water
  • Optional: honey

INSTRUCTIONSMix all ingredients and let infuse for 10–15 minutes. Serve chilled or warm.

 

Basil Garlic Butter


INGREDIENTS
:

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 2 tbsp chopped basil
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)


INSTRUCTIONS
Mix well and spread on bread, vegetables, or grilled meats.

 

Tomato Basil Salad


INGREDIENTS
:

  • Fresh tomatoes (sliced)
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Mozzarella (optional)
  • Olive oil & balsamic vinegar
  • Salt & pepper

INSTRUCTIONS: Layer tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella. Drizzle with oil and vinegar. Season and enjoy!
